Case study

RAA: The Royal Automobile Association of South Australia

Social media creation, management and moderation for the RAA, who has been providing roadside assistance and motoring advice for over 100 years.

The background

The RAA (the Royal Automobile of South Australia) is a multidimensional membership organisation in South Australia who has been providing roadside assistance and motoring advice for over 100 years. In early 2019, RAA had a resourcing gap in their social media team and required an external team to pick up the day-to-day operation of their social media platforms at short notice.

What we did

For a period of five months, Slice managed the day-to-day operation of RAA’s social media platforms. During this period of organisational change, we ensured RAA’s social media strategy continued to be implemented and that all featured content was useful and relevant to members. We were responsible for managing content calendars, writing and publishing organic content across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and LinkedIn, plus creating, activating and reporting on social media advertising, and responding to all customer service queries.

The impact

Allowing RAA to seamlessly maintain their social media content during a period of change was invaluable within the RAA communications team. During this time, RAA’s monthly 13% engagement remained at a steady rate, with excellent follower growth on Facebook. We moderated a monthly average of 2,000 comments and 250 inbox queries across the breadth of RAA products and services, and produced over 320 social posts and managed 57 Facebook ad campaigns.
